Original Militaria And Curios From All Periods
  • WHW Historic German Shield tinnie for the 25-26 Oct. 1941 donation-collection Drive

In Nazi Germany the Winterhilfswerk (Winter Charity Campaign or WHW) collection campaigns took place each winter and raised a great deal of money for charitable purposes. It was common practice for those who collected the contributions to give donors a small memento to show appreciation for their contribution, and by wearing the memento, it was obvious the donor had contributed money. This tiny shield is styled after an ancient Germanic shield bearing a large stylized eagle with a beautiful green gemstone orb centered on the eagles chest. The reverse of the shield includes the manufacturer's information and a fully intact pin clip. The silvered finish is about 95% and there is most of the original lacquer remaining A really striking pin that would look fantastic on a lapel and a really Splendid token of appreciation!
