Original Militaria And Curios From All Periods
  • Interesting German Patriotic Grouping

The WHW, “Winterhilfswerk” (Winter-help-work), was an annual charity donation/ funding event held by the “NS-Volkswohlfahrt” (National Socialist Peoples’ welfare) in which members belonging to the multiple NSDAP organizations would collect donations from the general public and as a token of appreciation, contributors were rewarded with a wide variety of patriotic lapel badges or propaganda booklets.

This assortment of original pieces includes three silver/grey painted plastic banners marked "LUFT-NACHRICHTENTRUPPE" (Air Intelligence Troop) "JAGER" (Elite Light Infantry) and "REGIMENT GENERAL GORING" (General Goring Regiment). All are pinback and retain their pins and exhibit slight wear and handling. In addition, all are marked D.R.G.M. and We 1.

Also, included in this grouping is a very nice 10-year commemorative tinnie honoring Gau Berlin's 10-year anniversary, “10 Jahre Gau Berlin 1926-1936” (10-year district of Berlin 1926-1936). Made of an aluminum alloy and measuring approximately 1-1/2” the piece is silver washed with darkened recesses. On the obverse, is the Adler clutching a wreathed swastika. Multiple NSDAP banners and the Iconic crowned Berlin bear all above the event “10 Jahre Gau Berlin 1926-1936”. Next to the bear is a name that appears to read GLOCKLER (possibly the artist).

The reverse is a solid back type that features a double crimped pin in excellent working condition, along with the name of the manufacturer: WALTER DEMMER LUDENSCHEID.

A really nice grouping of patriotic pieces that won’t break the bank and would look great together in a small frame or case!
