The Type 30 bayonet was designed for the Imperial Japanese Army to be used with the Type 30,38, and 99 Type rifles. This is an earlier model featuring the hooked quillion guard. The fullered blade is 15 3/4" long and although having honest wear on the blueing, has no chips or bends. Blued finish on the scabbard is approx 90% with light surface rust and a few areas of light pitting showing typical wear and tear from use in the field with no major dents or dings. The ricasso bears the trademark of the National Denki (National Electric) under supervision of the Kokura arsenal. The grip plates are in excellent condition with only a few dings and bruises, again, typical of use in the field. The pommel is stamped with a serial number; and, the mortise button works very well.
An excellent example of an iconic piece of Japanese Military weaponry.
