There is only 1 item left in stock.
When Hitler re-instituted the 2nd Class Iron Cross, on September 1st 1939, the 2nd Class Iron Cross was awarded for an act of bravery in the face of the enemy or actions that were above and beyond the call of duty. This is a die struck construction painted with a matte black paint, and the center of this example is magnetic. The obverse features a four legged cross with a center placed mobile swastika and date of “1939” on the lower arm. All is on a black base and surrounded by a silvered ribbed row and flat outlying border. The reverse features the same black base with a raised “1813” on the lower arm and has the same ribbed silver border. The top of the frame has a loop soldered to the frame which holds a ring marked with the code L/13 for Paul Meybauer Berlin. This ring holds a red, white, and black rayon ribbon which has some wear and minor staining. The paint remains approximately 95%+ intact. The cross measures approximately 4.5 cm wide and tall and weighs 18 grams with the ribbon. A highly desirable variation in beautiful condition! Well worth the investment, especially since they are becoming quite difficult to find!  Full Sized Images Available by Request
